“Gossip Girl” star Taylor Momsen took a break from playing Jenny Humphrey to play hostess at the Victoria’s Secret store in SoHo, New York City. She was helping launch the lingerie giant’s new rocker-chic fragrance collection, Love Rocks. The actress/musician — she fronts The Pretty Reckless — stole a moment away from the catcalling throng of photographers to chat with StyleList:StyleList: How does your style differ from Jenny’s?
TM: My personal style has morphed a lot of Jenny’s style. Jenny’s style has transitioned into more of Taylor’s style as the seasons have gone on.
Jenny has more of a polished Upper East Side look than I do and I kind of like everything a little bit messy.
SL: What would you want from Victoria’s Secret for Valentine’s Day?
TM: Love Rocks [the new fragrance]! I don’t have a boyfriend so I’d have to buy it for myself. It’s perfect for a Valentine’s Day gift — the packaging is pretty and the scent is amazing.
SL: What’s your biggest fashion faux pas?
TM: Uggs. I don’t think it’s necessary to kill a baby lamb for shoes! But they are really comfy, and I’m not going to lie, but I do occasionally put them on when I’m on set.
The Love Rocks scent features plum, violet and vanilla flavors infused with sweet smells of peony, jasmine and peach nectar. The packaging is very rock ‘n’ roll—a bold red lacquer bottle adorned with tattoo-inspired graphics. The black rosette is detachable to wear with your hottest rocker outfit.
