Taylor Momsen, 2010
“With Taylor Momsen, it’s utterly synthetic. I have this expression of her barely tolerating being photographed. Granted, it’s not the heavy makeup she employs for her rock ’n’ roll career, but this was just at that turning point, and I felt that was important. I put her in there and a lot of people said, ’Why do you have Taylor Momsen in there?’ But with her pretty reckless, bad-girl image and the crazy things she’s doing in the press, she’s almost out-Courtneying Courtney at this point, honestly. Plus, she looks great, and she has more of a masculine feeling in her pose than a lot of the men do in this whole series.”
