New Interviews!

Taylor Momsen Talks Classic Rock, Vinyl, The '60s and "Gossip Girl"
Gossip Girl star Taylor Momsen is quite the hellion in her band, The Pretty Reckless, who just released Light Me Up. In ARTISTdirect.com’s exclusive video interview with the blonde and beautiful vixen, she talks about her love for classic rock and how she grew up exposed to her father’s vinyl collection, namely bands like AC/DC and Pink Floyd. That’s right, Momsen’s got cred. Buckets of it.

She gives us an intimate and detailed explanation of the song “Factory Girl,” which is inspired by her love of the ‘60s era and pop culture figures like Edie Sedgwick, who was the “Factory Girl,” and Andy Warhol. The story is about a hooker who solicits her way from NYC to LA for drugs and money, according to Miss Momsen. That description makes me want to crank the song and pay even closer attention to it.

Momsen also opens up about Gossip Girl and compares her love for acting with her love for music, saying that music is her truest passion, while acting is a job that she really enjoys.

She also cops to having spent her formative years rocking out to Rage Against the Machine, System of a Down and other hard rock dynamos. She also hearts Iron Maiden t-shirts. Well, Taylor Momsen, ARTISTdirect.com hearts you!
