Madonna: 'Material Girl' Launch with Lourdes & Taylor Momsen!

Madonna walks the pink carpet with daughter Lourdes Leon at the collection launch of their new fashion line, Material Girl, at Macy’s Herald Square on Wednesday (September 22) in New York City.

The mother-daughter duo was accompanied by the face of the line, Gossip Girl’s Taylor Momsen.

Material Girl was designed by Madonna and Lola along with Iconix Brand Group’s in-house fashion department. The collection includes apparel, footwear and accessories including handbags and jewelry!

"Lourdes is like my little sister"

Actress-turned-model Taylor Momsen has revealed that Madonna's daughter reminded her of her little sister.

The 17-year-old Gossip Girl star is the face of Madonna and her daughter

Lourdes' new Material Girl clothing collection and she said she was shocked the Queen of Pop had chosen her.

Momsen told J-14 magazine: 'I didn't believe it. I was like, 'Shut up. Stop it. What are you talking about?' I was super-excited. It's a really huge compliment and an honour to work with Madonna.'

Asked what the superstar was like to work with, Momsen said: 'She is super-down-to-earth. She is a very cool chick, which is very nice to see. She's Madonna!'

She added that Madonna's 13-year-old daughter Lourdes was also fun to work with.

She said: 'She reminded me a lot of my little sister. She's 13 and my sister's 13. She is a very sweet girl. She has great fashion sense, so it was actually a pleasure.'

Material Girl Launch and Taylor Momsen @ Herald Square, NY!

Macy’s launched the Material Girl collection and to celebrate the line’s kick-off, an amazing event was held at Macy’s in Herald Square.

I headed out with Henry (my photog) and didn’t know what to expect, in reality we never thought how insane Macy’s can get when you mix Madonna and Taylor Momsen fans together. The place was super packed and the dog pit (the press area) included some rowdy paparazzi. Although, chaotic at first, Taylor looked fab as always and was super nice to all her fans. She sang a few songs from her band (Pretty Reckless) and I have to admit girlfriend has an amazing voice!

The collection is very cute and reminiscent of Madonna’s 80′s iconic style, I liked the silhouette and fun prints of the dresses. To honor the “Material Girl”, I decided to wear a leopard crop-top and a long black skirt to honor Ally Sheedy from my favorite 80′s movie, The Breakfast Club, hahaha. Check out the pics …..

Taylor Momsen performs at the launch for the Material Girl fashion line at Macy’s Herald Square on Tuesday (August 3) in New York City.

Material Girl, the new line from Madonna and her daughter Lourdes Leon, was launched exclusively in Macy’s stores across the country and on Macys.com on Tuesday!

Last week, new ads for the line featuring Taylor were released.

On September 22nd, Madonna and Lola, will also make a special appearance at the same venue!
